Cars and watches seem to fit perfectly, a match in heaven, as they say. Historically, there has always been a deep connection between the two, since the timing in motorsports is essential. So it is only natural that brands research this in many ways. Auto-themed watches are not unusual because brands often meet partnerships with manufacturers, racing teams, championships or individual racing drivers. The German Watch manufacturer Stowa is now working with Abt Sportsline, a German name racing and tuning name. Abbot Sportsline or Abb in a short time is known for his expertise in the change and mood of street cars (mainly Audis and Lamborghinis) and for driving races. Very successful, I could say that you have won several races and titles in DTM and visit the car races and endurance racing sports. The collaboration between the two is realized with this new limited edition of Stowa Chrono ABT 24 hours and celebrates the 24 hours of the Nürburgring.
The Chrono ABT 24H Limited Edition takes on a predominantly black topic. The 44 mm width x 16 mm thick housing is with glass beads and then DLC-coated to achieve a secret look. A decent styling element are the hollowed-out tapes that illuminate the housing as touch. The strong exterior is crowned by a torn bezel, also in black, of course also in a engraved minute scale. The crown and the trigger follow the blackness and a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating covers the dial. On the back, a Rearer Sapphire crystal caseback reveals the movement that I will reach a little.
The dial of the Chrono ABT 24H LE is completed in matt black with a printed pattern of y for decoration, inspired by design elements in some of the latest Lamborghinis (see above), with which ABT has extensive experience. The applied markings and the hands of hours and minutes are black, with Super Luminova C3 inserts that radiate a green light at night. The chronograph ads are both for the scales and the hands red and below there is a circular section for the date. Interestingly, the window itself is rectangular and shows a black pane with white digits. The finishing touches are the shiny black minute markers and the red and white abbot 24h logo.
An automatic chronograph movement by Sellita SW510 is thrown away in the housing, which of course is based on the architecture of the famous Valjoux 7750. It runs with a frequency of 28,800 VPH and has a power reserve of 48 hours. The finishing includes German ribs, bladed screws and polished and brushed surfaces. The rotor is also signed with Stowa's name and logo, the fact that it is a chrono, the logo of Abbot and the restriction of the watch.
Stowa places the Chrono ABT 24H Limited Edition on a black rubber belt with an increased middle section and a black DLC-covered pin buckle. It is only limited to 50 parts and receives for retail for retail 3,490 EUR, including VAT (German, that is 19%).
