If you are a recurring reader of Monochrome, you have probably seen that we are usually very reactive and we try our best to deliver the freshest news. From time to time, however, we are still surprised when a brand published new editions of her watches without communicating. Today is a perfect example of this situation when Audemars Piguet published two new versions of the Royal Oak a few weeks ago and said nothing about it. But now you know … Here are the two white gold gold, smoking blue 41mm Royal Oak Selfwinding models that you have probably never seen before.
What we are talking about is nothing groundbreaking or innovative, but only two very good -looking models that were published a few weeks ago without anyone really noticing it. In short, we have two 41 mm editions of the Royal Oak, a time and date and a chronograph that is housed in white gold covers and is equipped with new smoked dials.
The first is based on the classic reference 15510, the 41 mm automatic Royal OAK-NOT with the extra-thin jumbo model. For this occasion, this output is based on a white gold housing with a thickness of 10.5 mm, paired with a white golden lifting and a screw lock crown, sapphire crystals on both sides and water resistance of 50 m. As expected, a suitable white gold bracelet with a folding cap is delivered. Inside the housing is the internal caliber 4302, the latest generation of the automatic movement of the brand with 70 hours of electricity reserve.
The second model is based on the Chronograph Reference 26240, a clock that we have known completely well since the 50th anniversary of the model. This 41 -mm clock is 12.4 mm thicker due to its complication. The white gold cover has shrunk pusher and sapphire crystals on both sides. It is also equipped with an integrated white gold bracelet and 50 m water resistance. Inside is the integrated Flyback chronograph movement of the brand, the caliber 4401 with 70 -hour -current reserve.
The most important novelty for this couple of 41 mm Royal Oak Models concerns the dial. Both have the “Grande Tapisserie” music of the range – not the more sophisticated “petite tapestry” of the Jumbo – here in a smoked dark blue color. It has a slight gradient effect with a darker periphery and gives the display a certain depth. Both have white gold markings and hands filled with luminescent coating and a silver -gray inner bezel.
These two smoked Blue Royal OAK 41mm self -winding models were first published as Japan special editions before they were made available to the rest of the world. The self -winding 15510 BC For more information, see Audemarspiguet.com.
