“How the Settimo Gold Armband has increased the eternal clothing guard from 1908 from Elegant to exceptionally.” So we started with our review, which was basically only a metal bracelet that was added to an existing Rolex model. Objectively speaking, the eternal in 1908 is technically nothing new on the Settimo bracelet. Only the golden multi-link bracelet attached to the housing, which replaced the leather strap options, was the topic of conversation. But let's be honest, this new bracelet increases the watch to a whole new level. It is astonishing to see how “only a bracelet” can transform a watch into something really excellent. In this sense, we think that it would be a shame for the Settimo bracelet of eternity from the 1908s that it was only available in yellow gold. We need more of this bracelet, and we have a few ideas to enlarge the area with additional materials and different looks.
Usually we would have made these suggestions as part of our annual Rolex forecasts. However, some discussions in the team led to writing this article. As you can imagine, we are often brainstorming and fantasize what we would love to start the brand X or the brand Y, or we change an existing model that may have disappointed us. Here it started with a simple group chat with our founder Frank, who is not a fan of precious metals in general. After all, this magazine is called monochrome, and we tend to have something for steamed colors.
And then it came “what if?” Ask. What if Rolex is produced the Settimo bracelet in a silver-colored metal? And what if there was more than just a variation? What if the Settimo bracelet would become a staple food of the brand that is available in several material combinations, just like the anniversary or oyster arm bands? And just like the predictions, my answer was: “Let me open Photoshop and hit a few ideas”. And these are the results.
The eternal 1908 on a Settimo bracelet
Before we share our ideas for a complete collection of Perpetual 1908 watches on Settimo briefelettes, let's go back briefly and remember exactly what we are talking about. In short, it is a variation of the yellow gold only (at least at the moment) of the classic Perpetual 1908, a clock that was released in 2023 to replace the Cellini collection (not officially, but still). The elegant option of the brand, the 1908, is a relatively thin clothing clock with a diameter of 39 mm, which is first output with classic white and black dials in white or yellow gold and worn on leather straps. Rolex surprised us again last year with the Platinum edition of the 1908 with a breathtaking icy Guilloché dial. All watches have the same internal caliber 7140, a movement that differs significantly from the rest of the catalog, with a Syloxi silicon hair jump and a completely new architecture.
This year, however, there were some news that could be reported on the continued 1908 side, but not for dials, complications or colors. It was all about the bracelet. In addition to the country resident, who also introduced a new bracelet design (the flat anniversary), Rolex presented the Settimo bracelet. An exclusively designed 7-link bracelet in solid gold and consists of small, rounded, polished elements, similar, but smaller to the connections of the anniversary bracelet, which is arranged in a staggered, articulated manner to create a smooth, flexible band on the wrist.
Surprisingly (or not), this development of the eternal 1908, which is only a new bracelet design, has created a lot of noise. Despite its undeniable vintage attraction, almost like a higher version of an old gay, gay Frères pearl bracelet, it is tough on the trend of the juwellose-like watch. Not to mention the handsome, elegant hidden closure that gives the observation on the wrist. After all, the bracelet sits surprisingly not flush with the case for Rolex, and there is a noticeable gaps between the housing head and the bracelet. This is reminiscent of old BOR bracelets from the 1940s, albeit more sophisticated.
All in all, this new bracelet increased in 1908 to a new level of refinement and cool. And that leads us to the subject of the day. Rolex shouldn't stop here. The crown has to deliver more. And here is what we imagined for the future.
Potential new SETTIMO wristoptions for the Rolex Perpetual 1908
We will divide this into two categories: the versions that probably occur and some with a little more creativity. First, the obvious development for the eternal 1908 on a Settimo bracelet would be white gold alternative. For the time being, this bracelet is only available in yellow gold, although the collection also contains white gold clocks on leather straps. It would be a completely natural step for Rolex to introduce a white metal option into the catalog.
No important further developments that have to report, apart from the fact that this watch with its silver markings and hands, either look quite spectacular on a matt white or matt black dial and a more due precious metal for the housing and the bracelet. It would become much more discreet, more casual, less showy, it would become a classic, daily -oriented, carefree alternative. Visually reserved, for those who know …
Let us continue with the development of another existing model. Let us tackle the case of the Platinum Edition with your ice blue -guilloché dial. Again necessary to change a successful start that was praised by many. This version would include all the specifications of the Platin Perpetual 1908, locked up and simply add a platinum bracelet option-a factor that not only give weight to the clock, but also increases the price (55-60K probable). But fairly, it would look pretty amazing.
Let us be a little more creative now and introduce us that have not yet been published. At Monochrome we have a preference for white metal watches paired with champagne or salmon dials. We have praised the combination of a discrete white metal shell/bracelet with a lively color for the dial. What if Rolex has published a Platinum Edition with a light gold-colored Guilloché dial? I think it looks fantastic.
While we deal with the topic of materials, we can easily imagine a two -color version that combines white and yellow gold. White gold would serve as the basis for the middle housing and most members of the bracelet, while yellow gold would play the role of colored accents on the bezel, crown, markings, hands and medium-sized clothes, and usual with rollers. A little brave, I have to admit.

The use of the existing cases of yellow or white gold and the combination with a suitable Settimo bracelet would give this collection an additional dose of bold elegance and a Jewish feeling. Yes, the yellow gold setimo with a green malachite dial is not the most discrete, but the result is rich and appealing, don't you find?
