When you think Chopard, you often have the idea of discrete luxury and old money. Refined, elegant and mostly classic. But lately the brand has introduced a slight touch of color and more boldness even in the Luc collection. But that's nothing compared to what the brand just presented. Just in time for summer and ocean vibes, Chopard stops two bold, colorful and rather unexpected versions of his sporty elegant watch, The Alpine Eagle. These beach editions called and presented in 41 -mm cases, the dials boast out, which are reminiscent of the living colors of sea and mountain in maritime blue and rock jasmine.
We could easily have imagined that these bright and lively models talk in a small, women -oriented housing of 33 mm that exists for the Alpine eagle. But no, Chopard grew up and decided to bring lively tones into the classic format, the mostly male 41 -mm edition of the Alpine eagle. As a reminder, this collection is the setting of the brand for the elegant sports guard, with a design that is reminiscent of the St. Moritz watch period of 1980 designed by Karl-Friedrich Scheufele. Defined by its integrated style and the bezel with 8 originally positioned screws. The collection, which is newly interpreted in 2019, is now in line with the current trends and offers in several editions, from classic time and date to a large chronograph, ultra-thin expenses or even a mechanically impressive high frequency model.
But today everything revolves around colors … unmistakable colors to be very honest. Some will love it, others will not. And that's okay. After all, you can still go classic with the Alpine Eagle 41 and choose a dark blue, a gray or a green dial. And if you want something a little more striking (understatement), then meet the new Alpine Eagle 41 Beach Editions. Design and mechanically nothing new to report. These new editions are based on the classic 41 -mm automatic versions, with a 9.7 -mm housing made of Lucent Steel -a proprietary alloy with recycled steel and a stronger charisma. The housing retains the signature of eight screws, its brushed surfaces with polished accents and the same specifications as a whole: sapphire crystals at the front and rear, a roaring crown, 100 m water resistance.
Chopard changes to the dials of this alpine eagle 41 beach editions and retains the signature pattern of the collection: a minted, very detailed Sunburst pattern that is inspired by the eagle's iris. But now with two polarizing colors, Maritime Blue (turquoise) and rock Jasmine (pink). The first is reminiscent of the azure water that rings the southern slopes of the Alps, where the mountain area hits the Mediterranean, while the second appreciates the delicate Alpine Blume (Androsace Alpina), which only blooms in rock jugs with high height curvature. Hands and markings are classic for the collection, and the date windows are adapted with the dial.
In addition to the summer mood of these colorful alpine eagle models, the topic continues on the carriers, which match the dials. From rubber with a shape that is called back to the metal arm bands (slightly rejuvenated with an increased central cap), the automatic version offers this option that was previously reserved for the chronograph of the collection. Inside the case is the chronometer certified internal caliber 01.01-c. This automatic movement, which is decorated with polished slopes and sunburns, works with a 4-Hz frequency and offers a 60-hour current reserve.
