When Löbner announced his return in 2023 after almost 80 years of absence, a legacy of the precision period was reinstalled in Prussian workshops in the 19th century. Löbner made his name records on racetracks and Olympic finishes alike from the pioneer “TertiTähler”, who could measure the hundredth of hundredths to massive watches that have coordinated a thousandths seconds for seconds. The current highlight of this rebirth is the Löbner Steelracer Speed Arrow Limited Edition. The current version of Löbner's chronograph Watchmaking is a tribute to times when speed records and raw materials defined motorsport and Löbner were there to drive them.

With the new Steelracer series, this legacy is born in real mechanical form. The Rocketman, now a standard production model, pays homage to Fritz from Opel's rocket car exploitation with a galvanic black dial and a tachymeter scale, which marks the 256 km/h speed of “Raketenfritz”, which was set in 1928. The steel racer- Löbner time -controlled up to perfection.

In the 1930s, the Rudolf Caracciola's bladder time of 432.7 km/h in Mercedes W125, a record that was unchallenged for decades. The Speed Arrow Le honors this golden age and has its name from the legendary silver speech (“silver arrows”), which ruled Grand Prix before the war. True to this inheritance, the Speed Pfeil Le makes a great first impression. The 42.5 mm steel case is for a matt, utilitarian finish that reflects the brushed aluminum body of the original silver arrow racing drivers. Subtle polished sloping break the industrial look and catch the light just enough to give it a crispy edge.

The case invites you to explore, the integrated tabs and sharp lines add an architectural precision, while the engraved tachymeter beer literally keeps history alive. If you look closely, you will find a red marker at Caracciola's exact record speed of 432.7 km/h. Löbner's patented slide crown protection (with a engraved patent number) keeps the crown alone, which prevents accidental operation. The clock is waterproof at 100 m and provides for every modern adventure, a good tool and a good product of the German engineering.

The dial nods the brand of the brand to create instruments for Timing data records. Like the early “terti countel”, the focus here is firmly on the chronograph. The central second pointer, 30-minute counter at 3 a.m. and 12-hour counter at 6 have visual priority. In comparison, the actual hours and minutes at 10 a.m. are discreetly moved to a subdial, in which a subtle allusion to the idea is that this watch is for recording time and not just reading. The galvanized silver-gray dial corresponds perfectly to the housing and reminds of the raw metal of the silver arrows itself. Polished chronograph hands with red tips add a splash of sporty drama, while Super-Luminova keeps the time legible in poor lighting conditions.

The Löbner Steelracer Speed Arrow LE is driven by the robust caliber 6223, an automatic chronograph of a column wheel, which is developed with La Joux-Perret and then modified, assembled and finely regulated in Löbner's Pforzheim workshops. It beats 28,800 vibrations/hour, has a 60-hour electricity reserve and contains the Löbner module for the off-center time display. Turn it around and the Sapphire caseback reveals the decorated movement and the custom rotor, a memory of Löbner's commitment to function and finesse.

The model has a microstadaily stainless steel bracelet that reflects the finish of the housing and is secured with a stable butterfly closure and safety slipcase. It is elegant and yet solid and hugs the wrist comfortably and gives this 42.5 mm sports chronograph the perfect balance of the old engineering and contemporary design. A limited edition of 50, it is a price for 14,800 EUR or CHF 14,200.
