When Chopard started the Luc Quattro in 2000, which was driven by the ultra-thin, manually wounded caliber 98.01-l, he announced himself as a serious force in the world of Haute Horlogerie. Caliber 98.01-L was the second movement, which was developed completely internally by the Chopard production, according to the groundbreaking caliber 96.01-l, an innovative microrotor design that was created in collaboration with the Master Watchmaker Michel Parmigiani. This year Chopard celebrates the milestone of the quattro with a refreshing, contemporary version that remains true to the spirit of the original and at the same time refines its silhouette, the dial and its conclusion. This new Platinum & Eisblue version, which is known as Luc Quattro-Mark IV in Rosegold at the beginning of this year, increases the model to a new level of rarity and presence.
The quattros' claim to fame was the quattro technology: four stacked network spring barrels, which are arranged in two couples and provide an extraordinary nine-day (216-hour) electricity reserve in one movement. Chronometer certified and carry the Poinçon de Genève and put a new benchmark for slim high-performance manual watch watches.
The first Luc Quattro, Ref. 16/1863, made his debut in a classic 38 mm case and has developed since then through various references and complications, including the remarkable Luc Quattro Tourbillon, the LUC controller, and the inventive Luc Quattro Spirit, who has the 25th anniversary of Chopard Manufactures with it Four barrel power reserve marked (see below). The LUC collection has recently accepted slimmer, more modern lines, as can be seen in the refined Luc Lunar One Ewayual Calender and in the compact Luc XPS line. The new 2025 Luc Quattro-Mark IV provides this heir with a dial layout that is cleaner than ever before, which is powered by the developed LUC 98.01-L caliber.

… and it is movement with two double stacked barrels.
Chopard has revised the case of the Quattro into a more compact, more elegant profile that feels wonderfully balanced on the wrist. This new Luc Quattro version is offered in 950 Platinum and adds a discrete feeling of weight and presence that fits its sophisticated character. The new housing measures a diameter of 39 mm and only 10.4 mm thick and integrates seamlessly into the optimized aesthetic codes, which now define the modern LUC line. It slides slightly under a cuff, but still feels considerable in the hand.
His bass information, a subtle allusion to the classic pocket watches of Louis-Ulysse Chopard in the 19th century, combines a gently arched, polished bezel with vertical satin-past housing, which create a pleasant contrast between surfaces that catch the light in every angle. A discrete engraved bee between the tabs, Chopard's new signature for platinum pieces, adds a tiny flourishing, the collector appreciates the clock up close when dealing with the clock.
The updated dial, which was created from brass with a rich, sky blue or ice-blue frosted finish, which is achieved by PVD treatment, changes wonderfully into the light and gives the Quattro a fresh, contemporary energy without losing its classic stance. The hour in the used fishing bone lessons and the sharp dauphine fusée hands, which were made from ethical 18k white gold, are clearly in front of the blue background and give the right hint of warmth and sophistication if they are viewed personally.
At 6 a.m., a finely snail subdia integrates both the small seconds and a hand-unit date that perfectly balances the dial. One of the most welcome updates is the relocation of the Power Reserve Indicator, previously at 12 p.m., which is visible through the Sapphire crystal case. This subtle change eliminates the dial for a cleaner, more elegant look, when it is worn, but proudly shows the nine -day reserve of the quattros, which the owner can admire.
The caliber of Luc 98.09-l remains a technical triumph and a real pleasure to study with the fallback because the completion is excellent. This slim, hand-controlled movement with 215 components only measures 3.75 mm thick, but thanks to the patented quattro system from Chopards, which still remains an industry benchmark for extensive autonomy, contains an impressive nine-day power reserve. The movement carries the prestigious Poinçon de Genève, is COSC certified and has a Swan's neck regulator for fine-tuning. A equilibrium spring with a PhillIPS terminal curve keeps the amplitude when the power breaks off, and with a stop second function you can determine the time exactly details that make this watch so practical to live because it is worth admiring up close.
The Mark IV is offered on a manual shell, brown alligator leather strap with tone-on-tone seams and offers a suitable combination with the platinum case. A second, gray veal leather is contained for a more contemporary look, but a light blue can also be a nice option. The straps are secured by a suitable platinum PIN buckle that completes the discrete but luxurious character of the watch. The Luc Quattro – Mark IV is only available via Chopard Boutiques with a price of EUR 51,400 EUR.
