Guebly is not an old brand. On the contrary, it is a recently created independent watch company that only published its first clock, prologue or chapter 1, a year ago. Guebly is the idea of Adnane Kerd, a collector who has become a watchman. A sober luxury sports watch, which showed great attention to detail and craftsmanship as well as a discrete modern design, had an undeniable attraction, but also showed some minor weaknesses. The prologue version of the clock (2024)
Guebly is already back with his second model a little more than a year after the release of his first o'clock. But it is not entirely new, or at least it feels pretty close to what we saw in 2024. Surprisingly, some decided to build a collection of several watches, bloody, look back on its opening model and drastically revise it …, which was good, everything that could be upgraded upgraded. This is basically the memo here. The basic recipe does not change. The CH1 Rétrograde retains the same basic movement, the same overall design and the same display. However, take a close look and you will see that so much has been revised from the case, the dial or even the movement.
The best way to illustrate the changes is to take a closer look at the drawings provided by the brand – more brands should do this if you update a clock … to bring a more sophisticated construction, but also better ergonomics, Guebly Designer Éric Giroud has asked to capture the proportions and the facets in total. The housing consists of Titan in class 5 – and makes it easy – and while it measures a diameter of 42 mm, it is fairly thin at 10.5 mm, but mostly short, only 44.3 mm long. The case is made by Voutilainen & Cattin SA.
Despite its attention to detail, the Guebly CH1 Rérograde was designed as an everyday sports watch. It is waterproof at 100 m, the crown is well protected in (redesigned) guards, and strong efforts against ergonomics were made with a curved fallback. In addition, the clock is now equipped with a quick publication system so that the belt can change without tools. The latter is made of leather, but has a sporty construction and is closed by a Velcro -provision that switches to a titanium buckle.
The dial of this new CH1 -Rérograd has also been drastically redesigned to discover with far more details. The display remains the same with central hours and minutes and a declining second point at 6 a.m. The general inspiration remains identical, but all surfaces have been updated. The dial now consists of 925 sterling silver with a handmade Guilloché spiral motif. In addition, it now has a bright hour and titanium hands in class 5. The retrograde 30-second indication, which was previously displayed on a Titan cartridge, is now being read on an applied plaque with the Grand Feu Maille from Maëlle Constant, a specialist in this ancient technology.
The beating heart of the Blue CH1 -Rérograd has also been revised. The movement was still used by om -mechanics (Olivier Mory) from Ébrümle and was redesigned by Sylvain Pinault (Horocraft) and Christophe Beuchat. The automatic caliber 21.31 has a 5N gold microrotor as well as bridges and plates that were created entirely from Titan of the 5th grade. It beats at 4Hz and stores 70 hours of electricity reserve. The decoration of the movement was improved with eight inner angles, a double spirited ratchet wheel and by hand mirrors and hand mirrors and tailor -made screws (also on the fallback) with 4 holes.
The new Guebly CH1 Rérograd is a nice development of opening development, which is committed to the original concept, but also a pleasant development that responds to comments.
