Every year, during the summer season, the car-loving community is spoiled with the absolutely best events that show the absolute best cars from the past, present and future. Events such as the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Concorso d'Elanza Villa d'Este, the pebble beach concours d'Elegance, the part of the Monterey Car Week, and so on. Regardless of whether you are interested in sports cars, racing cars, concept cars or tailor -made commitments, there is always something exciting to discover. In the Monterey Car Week this week, which took place from August 8th to 17th, I remembered that there were a whole series of unique new cars that merged with the new. Sometimes only in mind or design, but sometimes physically by using a vintage donation car to create something special. With this and mind here are three cars that bridge the gap between the past and the present beautifully!

Ring Brothers Aston Martin DBS “Octavia”

For some it could be a sacrilege to cut a vintage Aston Martin, but for others it is just another project and hellishly cool. I take on the latter because the work exhibited by the Ring Brothers are absolutely highest level. Think of Singer or Gunther works, but not on Porsches. The company is based in the USA and was founded by the brothers Jim and Mike Ring. Jim and Mike Ring have brought up and build the most amazing cars for years and have often won first -class award ceremonies like SEMA for years. Each project car is divided into the smallest detail and then rebuilt carefully and converted into an incredible custom.

With the Aston Martin DBS “Octavia”, the Ring Brothers unveiled their most advanced buildings so far and shows a way. Over 12,000 hours were poured into this unique machine. It uses an Aston Martin DBS from 1971 as a starting point that was modified extensively and yet has retained its striking character from bumper to bumper. Under the bonnet there is a Wegner motorsports that is charged 5.0-liter coyote V8-V8, which pumps out a brutal 805 hp, which is only sent to the rear wheels by a tremec-replacement gear.

The thoughtfully redesigned body was created in carbon fiber, the wheelbase has been extended and has an integrated structural cage to increase its rigidity. The muscular appearance of the original DBS was reinforced by new bumpers at the front and rear, a larger air intake on the bonnet, the extended front and rear wheel boxes, etc. On the back the signature Ducktail Spoiler was kept and honors William Townsend's original design. Inside, a full individual interior is equipped with tailor -made instruments, leather seats and much more. It is really a work of art and an absolute masterpiece when you ask me! The price? Apart from the fact that it is not very relevant, it is no doubt that this is a commissioned unique commitment.

Gordon Murray Automotive S1 LM

In automotive history until the end of the days, the McLaren F1 is regarded as the most important and legendary Supercar that was ever created, not to win Le Mans in 1995. Would it look the same? Would it drive right away? And would it be so iconic? The only man who answers such questions is Gordon Murray, the creator of the original. And not only to get things on paper, he actually built it!

The Gordon Murray Automotive S1 LM is a breathtaking homage and modern recovery of the original McLaren F1. And you would like to learn that no donor car was sacrificed for this! Instead, a customer commissioned Gordon Murray to create an F1 as if he had been designed and built in 2025. However, the S1 LM is based on the GMA T.50, but looks incredibly similar to the F1, but with a sharper, scarce and closed exterior, which is also on the way. It still has this unmistakable and targeted F1 shape with a triple air absorption at the front, butterfly doors, central seating position, roof shovel, double round taillights, quad exhaust systems and a mighty F1-GTR-inspired hind wing.

All of this is of course okay and similarities, but what is perhaps most important is the fact that there is again a naturally sucked V12 in the back, which is connected to a six-speed manual transmission. Up to 6.2 liter capacity was pushed over the 6.1 liter of the original F1 and does a little more power; 690 hp instead of 625 hp. No statistics were given at the top speed or acceleration, but if Gordon Murrays knows devotion to analog driving experiences, it will certainly be quick!

The advantage of the story is that it is built in the first place and that not one but five are brought to the street. The disadvantage is that everyone is sold to the same customers. So it is unlikely that you will ever find an event like the Monterey Car Week, the Villa d'Este Concours or the Goodwoods Festival of the speed.

Meyers Manx X Tuthill LFG Off -Roader

Three simple letters, LFG, summarize exactly what emotions the cooperation between Meyers Manx and Tuthill cause: Let us freaking go! Ok, it should say something in the middle and you have the idea, but let it keep it clean here. Both Tuthill and Meyers Manx are responsible for some of the coolest cars in recent years. Tuthill has built up some insane Porsche-based Restomods, such as the GT One, a crazy 911 GT1 homage, while Meyers Manx is known forever as the creator of the legendary beach buggy. Type yourself together and you get the malicious cool LFG off-roader!

A merger of two worlds depends in the most creative way. The story and inheritance of the Meyers Manx Buggy shows itself through his success because it won the rally La Paz, which led to the creation of the Baja 1000, Steve McQueen in the film “The Thomas Crown Affair” was immortalized on the big screen and basically created an automotive -Subkultur on her own. Combine this with Tuthill's creative vision and technical expertise, and the LFG is certainly a turmoil of a car! Only 100 are built, all with a carbon fiber body, stubby wheels on the corners, advanced off-roading suspension and apparently a number of motor options to choose from. This includes an engine that is derived from which is derived in the super light Tuthill 911 (watch the video on YouTube, it's wild!)

The LFG was basically built to deliver the maximum amount of fun wherever you take it. It is designed for experiences, and the first 20 built cars can enter the 2027 LFG 1000 rally for the 50th anniversary of the original Meyer Manx “Old Red” buggy, which triggered the entire Dune Buggy craze. There is no word about performance or pricing, but if you know Tuthill and Meyers Manx, it will be quick, a lot of fun and a lot of expensive …
