Geneva Watch Days have become an important event on the Watch industry's agenda. The event is now a perfect platform to introduce new products and even new independent watch brands. A typical example: The Akhor based in Geneva makes its public debut with a fascinating concept, Le Temps en Equilibrre, which is built on an unmistakable vision of the time and driven by its own, newly developed movement. The independent brand appears as a real collective project, which is combined by a common passion for fine traditional horology. It brings Anissa Bader together as founder and CEO (also chairman of Clamax), Riccardo Montfardino as a COO, Laurent Davoli as lead designer and Daniel Martinez.
The Akhor Le Temps en Equilibrre (time in balance in French) is created from a poetic vision of time and its fleeting nature. This new watch only partially reveals the hours and minutes as if they are suspended in motion. The temporary indications remind us that the time is never quite understandable. Similar to the mysterious watches of the old watches, it not only offers the measure of time, but also an invitation to think about its secret. From a technical point of view, the concept is brought to life by a wax component manufacturer based in Geneva, developed and patented system, which was founded by Akhor's production partner company in 1988. A two -stage dial architecture only partially shows the hour and the tiny hands, which rotate around a central column and under the upper dial plate. The dial is available in different colors either in a sunburst or honeycomb finish: black, white, blue, green and brown. There are also diamond set versions (280 Brillant Kut diamonds, approx. 0.85 cts).
Le Temps en Elecilibre is available in an elegant pillow case with a reasonable width of 39 mm and a thickness of 11 mm. From 4N/5N gold or stainless steel comes and falls out with a large dial opening, a thin bezel (available in a polished metal or diamond set version) and short shocks. The Hobnailed pattern crown is decorated with the brand's logo. The water resistance value is 30 meters.
By turning the watch around, the exhibition case secured by four screws is unveiled the internal Handwettkaliber AK10 (developed with the support of Daniel Martinez, a consultant for the development of movements and complications for independent and established brands). The idea was to be just as independent of creative and production perspective and to build a platform that could take up future developments and complications.
The elegant architecture of the large 31 -mm movement makes the time flow visible through partially open bridges and reveal the passage. The variable inertia balance wraps at 4Hz, and the run stores a comfortable 60-hour electricity reserve when the wound is complete. Its precision is certified by the COSC, and the Hacking second mechanism enables an exact setting. It is nice and finished with beautiful attachment and gene stripes that radiate from the balancer cycle. A refined detail, the screw heads are shaped to reproduce the outline of the housing. The watch is completely Swiss with partners such as Metalem (dial), inhotec, atocalpa (regulation organ), laboratory (housing) and multicuir (leather strap).
The Akhor Le Temps en Equilibrre is delivered on a hand-sewn alligator or veal leather leather strap. It is attached to the wrist by a folding buckle, which corresponds to the material of the housing. The watch is available for CHF 28,000 for steel versions and up to CHF 77,800 for gold, diamond set versions in retail.
