Seven hundred and thirty hundred hundred hundred hundred … let it bring in for a moment. I'll wait. This makes the 911 a very long way from the modest 130 hp of the first. The scientists busy by Porsche have managed to push a lot of electricity from the engine of the 911 previously seen, to break the 700 hp barrier and to enter a new dimension of the performance for the legendary sports car. And while critics previously claimed “it looks like any other available 911”, the new turbos also cancel some design changes to refresh the design and to withdraw it from the less strong siblings.

With every generation of the 911, it is a matter of time for Porsche to introduce special editions and high -performance versions of its legendary 911. Last year the GTS and GTS Cabriolet stopped the 992.2 generation, which was the first to use the hybrid strength. And even the most skeptical Porsche fanatic satisfied this that the electrification did not aim to reduce emissions and fuel consumption, but to improve performance!

The 911 GTS Cabriolet and 911 T Cabriolet, which we put to the test at the beginning of this year.

I had the privilege of experiencing this performance at the beginning of this year and can confirm that the GTS is already a powerful fast car. I can only imagine how the current of 541 hp and 711 hp, that the new 911 Turbo feels us like on the street! While there are still no driving material from platforms such as Hagerty, Top Gear or Drivetrebe, Porsche has started on board film material from the 911 Turbo S, which sets up a new round record for a 911, but more on that later.

Turbo invite a legacy

It is no coincidence that Porsche was selected in 2025 for the introduction of the latest generation of the Turboch-911, since this year the 50th anniversary of the very first street road leaves! While Porsche experimented with the technology in racing cars much earlier, as in the MAD 917-30 below, it was the generation of 1975 that brought us into the magic and power of a turbocharger in a street car. Wider bike boxes and a heavily impressive rear spoiler “Wal-tail” were pointed out what the 930 turbo delivered. 260 HP of a 3.0-liter (and later 3.3-liter) six-engine, which grew at 330 hp at 330 hp at the end of the life cycle.

The famous 'Turbo armor' Porsche 917-30 racing car, one of the earliest Porsche racing cars with turbos.

Since then, the word 'Turbo' has meant something special for Porsche and its customers and fans. The first models became known as widowers, since the sudden additional power boost of power came heavy in acceleration and people easily enforced through corners with the 911 excessive or worse without much warning. In the real Porsche fashion, however, the manufacturer remained a little more with every generation that he brought onto the street.

In 1989 it was time for the 930 General 911, a completely new generation to make room for 964. After about a year of absence, the 911 Turbo returned to the catalog, with a refined version of the motor of the previous generation of the previous generation with a 3.6-liter unit from 1992. 380 PS. The 964 is one of the shortest generations of 911, since the replacement 993 1994 entered production. As a result, 964 turbos and even more are the turbo s', with only 80 built, the rarest of the blown 911.

The actual 1994 Porsche 964 generation Turbo was famous in the film Bad Boys – Topgear.com.

A year after the debut of the 993, a 993 Turbo was brought to the street, which unpacked a 3.6-liter flat-six engine with 408 hp. This was also the first 911, which was equipped with twin turbochargers. Later generations introduced clever tricks such as a variable turbogeometry to reduce the turbo delay, whereby the enormous leap in performance is as a result of. The final 911 turbo before this brand new 992.2 Turbo was the 992.1 Spec 911 Turbo and Turbo S, which was driven by a 3.7-liter flat-SIX, which produced 580 hp or 650 hp. If this electricity level is now increasing to 711 hp, the new U -Bahn will surely be a wild machine!

The new 992.2 Turbo S

The 992.2 generation of the legendary 911 made its debut last year and greeted a hybrid drive train for the first time in the long and immensely successful legacy of the 911. While some were skeptical when it was announced for the first time, the ingenious hybrid drive of the 992.2 GTS did not aim to reduce emissions or anything, but rather to improve the performance of the car. The same recipe was applied to the new 992.2 Turbo S, which is also delivered with the T-hybrid system, even though it makes a little more electricity!

The numbers are honest to be honest, like this new 992.2. Turbo S pumps at least 711 hp from the 3.6-liter six-cylinder boxer engine. How? Well, for the beginning by not developing an eturbo (developed the electrical exhaust turbocharger porsche for the 992.2 GTS), but two of them. Although they are a touch that is smaller than that in the GTS, a smaller turbo spool due to a lower inertia of the turbine, even faster. Porsche also claims that thanks to the electrical support, the system does not cause a delay. If you then add a second Eturbo, you get more air into the cylinder, which leads to a bigger bang and thus more “go, go!”. An additional advantage of the system is an even faster engine reaction if you smash the gas. Basically, each of the most powerful 911 who have ever been made, right?

With the new systems, the 992.2 Turbo S is hardly heavier than the previous generation (actually more 85 kgs), and as a result, the 100 km / h sprint should not last more than 2.5 seconds (faster than McLaren's W1!). And we all know that Porsche is usually quite conservative with his alleged numbers! The top speed should be 322 km / h, and during the development it set a glowing lap time of 7 minutes and 3.92 seconds around the discouraging Nordschleife racing route! This is astonishing 14 seconds faster than the outgoing model!

But the only number that amazed me the most is the sprint from 0 to 200 km / h. If your start is perfect and you are brave enough to keep your foot plants, it is finished and dusted in 8.4 seconds! Although there are faster cars, this new 911 Turbo S is a real rocket, it seems! It is also quite comforting to know that the carbon ceramic brakes are the largest with a 911 ever, so it will stop at a cent. And as with most new models, there is a new and pretty good -looking bike design!

Let's not forget about the technical data. Let us not forget the appearance of the new 911 Turbo S., while the overall form is obviously not revolutionary, but here and there a few updates are equipped that are more than worth mentioning. At the front is a new design for the bumper and the aerial recording with a more box -shaped shape and the vertical slats we know from the GTS. These slats are also active and close in the wet to keep the front brakes nice and dry. The indicator -daylight running light is now integrated into the headlights, so that the front now looks a touch of cleaner.

The side profile shows the characteristic aerial absorption in the somewhat wider rear wheel arch, and on the back you get a newly designed active rear spoiler. If you work synchronously with the active front splinter, some urgently needed output will deliver at high speeds. Then comes the rear bumper, which is properly related to the boxer profile of the front bumper. The redesigned diffuser also adds some “stick” to the car, and there is a new complete Titan exhaust system with boxer exhaust gas tips on both sides of the diffuser.

As with a new 911, the interior is now the same basis as the rest of the 992.2 series, so that all delicacies are found in the same place. The rear seats are now an option to save the basic weight, but Porsche will not calculate it if you tick the field if you cross your 911 Turbo S. The front seats, which by the way, are the multi-adjustable light bucket seats from the GT3. You will also receive a number of internal and exterior options in carbon fiber to choose from and personalize them according to your wishes.

And of course Porsche's paint-to-test or PTS program can be examined to give it a unique color. It is available in both coupé and Cabriolet configurations with a basic price of 352,000 EUR and change for the solid roof and nearby 368,000 EUR For the drop top. In fact, quite a lot of money, but it ends up as the most powerful factory 911…. (Dramatic voice-over) … in the world! And I can't even imagine what a future GT2 or GT2 RS will look like.
