Louis Erard's collaborative series continues to grow with playful but serious partnerships, and this time the brand is once again connected with Vianney Halter for a brave new chapter in its Régulateur line. The project as a “World Tour” describes the régulature inspired by Steampunk through a silver monochrome basic design and then turns off a number of color -coded limited tasks that are bound to certain cities around the world. This cooperation builds directly on the earlier chapter -II models, but continues to go to the concept: Instead of two variants, the watch becomes a rolling version with special details, usually the seconds hand and a engraved motto that changes with every drop. It is an unexpected step that converts sales into cultural events.
The case remains loyal to the Régulateur framework developed for this cooperation: 43 mm diameter, 10.95 mm thick, with a lug-to-lug of 49.6 mm. It has stainless steel and has circular satinbrustic and polished surfaces as well as the signature level and 12 red-spent rivets. The guilded crown from Halter sits unconventional at 2 a.m. and continues the off-beat identity of the line. The water resistance is 50 m and a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating covers both the dial and the fallback.
The global edition provides a monochrome silver image with vertically brushed surfaces and suitable rhodium-sub-dials for hours and seconds. The controller display is inclined again and sends the sub-dials in the signature-asymmetrical style of the holder. Heating-blown central minute and sub-dial hands maintain the visual DNA of earlier cooperation, but the current seconds, also hidden for the global model, are deleted urban-specific: purple for Hong Kong, Rot-Gilt for Singapore, Rhodium for Tachamatsu etc.
The series is powered by the automatic Sellita SW266-1, the same reliable caliber that is used in previous editions. It works with 28,800 vibrations/hour, offers 38 hours of autonomy and is decorated with an open oscillating weight with the black paint symbol by Louis Erard.
The watch is worn on a dark blue granular veal leather belt with tone-on-tone seams, lined with a black calf leather and closed by a polished steel tin snap. Quick publication rods enable simple changes, and the 22 mm width offers versatility.
The World Tour Collection consists of two main strands: a global silver-dial edition with a fanned second hand, which are limited to 178 pieces and urban-specific drops of 18-25 units each. The first stops include Tagamatsu, Bangkok, Hong Kong and Singapore with other destinations. The price is CHF 4,500 Without tax. For more information, see Louiserard.com.
