Kari Voutilainen is now considered one of the largest independent watchmakers in the scene. The Finnish master monitor from his studio in Môtiers, Switzerland, produces some of the most coveted complications and draws collectors from near and far to admire his tiny repeater, tourbillons and other in -house delicacies. The youngest Marvel, which emerges from Môtiers, is the KV20I reversal of the CS o'clock (pillow shape), whereby an opposite internal caliber is now being organized in a pillow-shaped housing. The new model is a fusion of the WorldTime case and the back-to-front mechanics of the KV20i and plays with contemporary materials, colors and funds, without forgetting typical hand-guoché florish.
Starting with the least complex aspect of the watch, the pillow-shaped titanium shell sounds on the TP1 pocket watch that Kari and his daughter Venla created for only in 2019, a form that later influenced the pillow shape worldwide. With a height of 39 x 39 mm with a height of 12 mm, the titanium housing has four functional screws on each corner, the signature three-hole design of the brand and short, curved towing. The housing is decorated with a dominance of satin -brushing surfaces and polished accents on the slopes and tabs and has an oversized, flat, corrugated wind crown.
Since the mechanics usually displayed in the fallback are uncovered on the dial, the selection of a pillow -shaped housing offers more breathing space and a better view. Framed by a round, cherry-colored minute ring with polished white gold quarter points is one of the first things that attract her attention, the large, 13.5 mm equalization wheel with rose gold-timing weights, which are worn by a one-armed balancer shelf at noon.
Under the balance, the two blown curse bikes (the classic direct impulse disappointment of the brand) are located, which correspond to the color of the open bloued steel-opened tips of the golden hour and the tiny hands. The handmade finish of the German silver bridges and the main plate finds a contemporary touch and contrasts with the bright pink rubies and the golden wheels. The surfaces of the sprockets and wheels are perfectly polished.
The back shows a lush cherry red hand-guilloché ring with a screwed plaque with the model name and the number. The cherry -colored small second switch is also decorated with handguilloché at 2 a.m., which is placed over the frosted bridges. Other decorative thrives such as peryl and polished screw heads testify to Voutilainen's call for refined completion. The manual winding caliber has a sedated frequency of 6 p.m. VPH and a robust 60-hour current reserve.
The Voutilainen KV20I-reversed CS is combined with a hand shell of brown crocodile leather strap. It sells for CHF 133,800 (excl. Tax). Further information at voutilainen.ch.
