Nomos tangential gold
When it comes to classics, the Nomos Tangente is one of the best dress watches on the market. Part of the inaugural collection that Nomos presented in 1994 and part of the collection ever since, it remains a bestseller. The latest editions receive a more luxurious touch with a solid yellow gold case. Available in silver white with gold hands, blue hands or a black dial with gold hands, it is an absolute eye-catcher. Many argue that Patek Philliped nailed dress watch design with the famous Calatrava 96, but that is completely out of reach for most. The HU-01, the first watch from the watch collector and micro brand Horologically Unique, does not hide its inspiration one bit, but modernizes it a little. The 36mm case has a flat coin-edge bezel and houses a glossy black or cream white dial. Breguet-style numerals, leaf-shaped hands and a recessed small seconds round off the iconic look. If you're looking to spice it up a bit, the Furlan Marri Disco Volante could be just the thing for you. The classic proportions already give it plenty of character with the hidden bracelet-to-brace connection, the saucer-like case design and the recessed crown. Add to that a black onyx dial with six lab-grown diamond hour markers (the midday index is doubled), a woven mesh strap, and a beautiful hand-wound movement, and it becomes something very special. You could tone it down a bit with the black leather strap that is also included, but honestly we wouldn't do that.
