Vyntage Horology is the brand of the Seddiqi family, long considered the most influential retailer in the Gulf region. Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons has just celebrated its 75th anniversary. They are also organizers of Dubai Watch Week, which has become the vibrant center of independent watchmaking in the region. After decades of promoting the excellence of Swiss watchmaking, the Seddiqis have used their expertise to create a new series of watches that seamlessly combine Swiss craftsmanship with Emirati sensibilities.
Vyntage Horology's first watch was the Monograph (2023), a hand-wound monopusher chronograph. This was followed by the minimalist Purity collection with its striking four o'clock crown. One notable release was the Purity Tantonyx, a limited-edition tantalum and black onyx watch equipped with a hand-wound La Joux-Perret caliber. With the Strata, Vyntage Horology enters the toughest arena in modern watchmaking: the integrated luxury sports watch category. Without the archives to delve into, Strata filters the genre down to its essentials: proportions, comfort and quality, in titanium.
The Strata features a 40mm cushion-shaped case crafted from Grade 5 titanium with a flat AR-coated sapphire crystal on both sides. A pleasant aspect of the watch is its overall thinness, as the profile measures 8.92mm. Despite its sophisticated appearance, the Strata is designed for everyday use. It has the robustness of a real sports watch, but feels light, flowing and slim and combines sporty ergonomics and elegance. The brushed and polished surfaces are part of the design and the bevels catch the light beautifully. A screw-down crown contributes to the comfortable water resistance of 100 m.
The burgundy “Diamond Tessellation” dial shines and its pattern, a series of geometric engravings, changes the metallic red tone with every movement of the wrist. The faceted indices and polished, silver-plated Ozenge hands, filled with Super-LumiNova LN C1 X2 GL, stand out in contrast to the deep dial surface. A framed window at 3 o'clock with a color-coordinated date disc fits perfectly into the layout.
The sapphire crystal back reveals the Vyntage caliber VHM-3.01, supplied by Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier. This micro-rotor automatic movement operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour (or 3 Hz) and offers 48 hours of autonomy. Finishing includes laser-engraved and rhodium-plated bridges with hand-beveled edges and decorations on the tungsten rotor.
The Vyntage Horology Strata's integrated bracelet features a micro-extension clasp to ensure comfort in all conditions. For versatility, a rubber strap with a titanium-covered folding clasp is available. You will notice that the package is complete and there is a quick release system on the back.
