Introducing the new Norqain Wild One Skeleton Chrono

Introducing the new Norqain Wild One Skeleton Chrono

Norqain's Wild One high-performance sports watch collection was developed with the collaboration of industry expert Jean-Claude Biver. The 2022 launch introduced the brand's proprietary Norteq material, a carbon fiber composite that is six times lighter than steel and 3.5 times lighter than titanium. Norqain presents the Wild One Skeleton Chrono at Watches & Wonders 2026, featuring a flyback chronograph movement that is fully visible on the skeletonized dial and back. Available in three versions, the Wild One Chronograph's robust, shock-absorbing case is designed to withstand the rigors of extreme sports.

Norteq is an exceptionally strong, super light and ultra durable carbon fiber composite with a polymer matrix that can also be manufactured in every color under the rainbow. Thanks to the complex 25-piece Wild One Skeleton Chrono case with rubber shock absorber, a titanium container for the movement and a Norteq carbon fiber protective cage secured with screws, most cases can withstand impacts of up to 5,000 g. The screw-down crown, which is covered in black or gray rubber, ensures that the Wild One is water-resistant to 200 m.

The standard edition features the same matte 42mm case with a thickness of 13.6mm and features a black Norteq carbon fiber cage with black rubber shock absorbers and turquoise accents on the dial, a second 400-piece edition in burgundy Norteq with black shock absorbers, and a special edition limited to 75 pieces with an 18k pink gold PX Impact cage and a black Norteq case back, gray shock absorbers and gold and gray accents on the dial. The well-protected pusher at 2 o'clock starts/stops the chronograph, while the pusher at 4 o'clock handles resetting and restarting.

Developed with AMT, Sellita's bespoke subsidiary, the flyback chronograph caliber is not new; It was first seen in Independence in 2024. The movement is based on a classic Sellita SW500 base, extensively modified with a more sophisticated column wheel, a flyback function, an extended power reserve of 62 hours, COSC chronometer certification, as well as personalized bridges, plates and rotors, and is rightly considered a proprietary Norqain caliber.

To improve visibility, the Wild One Skeleton Chrono features two wafer-thin transparent panels that float above the movement at noon for 30-minute runs and at 6 o'clock for running seconds. To further improve visibility, the subdial hands have been replaced with more subtle printed pointer arrows. The slanted pulsometer scale on the flange is calibrated for athletes and helps them monitor their heart rate.

The flange also supports the chapter ring with the applied indices that float above the dial, reinforced by a black bridge that crosses the dial with the mountain silhouette of Norqain. The diamond-cut indices and hands are treated with Super-LumiNova, as is the arrow-shaped tip of the central seconds hand. The sapphire window on the caseback reveals the black, openwork rotor with Norqain's double N mountain logo and modern sandblasted, polished and brushed surfaces.

The three Wild One Skeleton Chrono models can be ordered with rubber straps and pin buckle or folding clasp. The prices for the watches paired with a rubber strap and pin buckle are between 7,200 CHF for the standard black model 7,300 CHF for the burgundy model, increasing to CHF 18,950 for the red gold reference.
