First Look – Bianchet teams up with Maserati for a limited edition UltraFino Maserati

It's no secret that when you look closely, cars and watches aren't all that different. Both are designed for performance and precision, even if one lives on the road and the other on the wrist. The Bianchet UltraFino Maserati, presented ahead of Watches and Wonders Geneva 2026, is a good example of this. This collaboration makes sense both on paper and in implementation. Maserati brings its long history of building fast, very powerful machines with a strong Italian identity, while Bianchet focuses on proportions and how each part fits into the whole, particularly with its “Golden Ratio” design philosophy. The result is a watch that is less about adopting design and more about two sides working towards the same result.

The Bianchet UltraFino Maserati is obviously closely linked to Maserati's MCPURA, a supercar powered by a twin-turbocharged Nettuno V6. This engine is based on Formula 1 technology, while the car itself remains light and balanced thanks to a carbon fiber structure. The performance figures are impressive with 0 to 100 km/h in under 2.9 seconds, but more importantly the focus is on weight, balance and use of materials. Bianchet takes the same approach with its UT01 flying tourbillon movement, keeping the watch thin, light and stable. This is not new territory for the brand, as seen with previous Ultrafino Carbon models, which prioritize weight and comfort on the wrist.

The openwork dial, lightweight construction and tonneau-shaped case all come from the UltraFino design, along with more obvious references to the MCPURA. For example, the dial is based on the vehicle's rim construction with the arrangement of the split spokes. The AI Aqua accents, a signature blue first seen on the MCPURA, also extend to the rubber stitching. This works well and looks more thoughtful than decorative, with the light blue accents standing out well against the black carbon casing.

The case is 40mm wide, 47.39mm long and 9.9mm thick and is made of high-density carbon. Without a strap, it remains extremely light at 36 grams. The construction includes an integrated crown protector made of carbon and sapphire crystal on both sides, with a water resistance of 50 meters. You can wear the UltraFino Maserati on an integrated carbon bracelet or a rubber strap with a folding clasp.

The UltraFino Maserati is powered by the Bianchet UT01 caliber, a handcrafted automatic flying tourbillon movement. It runs at 21,600 vibrations per hour and offers a power reserve of around 60 hours. The movement is just 3.85mm thick and features a visible tourbillon cage on the dial side that becomes part of the display. Finishing includes sandblasted, brushed and polished surfaces with hand-beveled edges, while titanium is used on the motherboard and bridges to reduce weight. The watch is also designed to withstand impacts of up to 5,000G, with a continued focus on performance and reliability.

The UltraFino Maserati is offered as a limited edition of 100 pieces and marks the 100th anniversary of Maserati's trident logo. The price has yet to be confirmed (expected to be around 70,000 CHF). For more information, visit bianchet.com.
