In addition to affordable dress watches and inexpensive but robust retro-style diving watches, Baltic has long been all about racing cars and vintage motorsport competitions (no real surprise when you know the passion of the founders). The connection between cars and watches is obvious, and Baltic has realized it with several tour car-style models. The latest model is the Scalegraph Tour Auto 2025. An evolution of the Tricompax collection, the Scalegraph returns this year in a new regatta-themed version, while Baltic becomes the Officially Timekeeper of the Transat Café L'Or.
The French Transat Café L'Or is considered an institution in offshore racing and is a real highlight in the sailing calendar. This two-handed race has been taking place between Europe and America for over 20 years. This extremely demanding sailing attempt requires determination, courage and resilience from the skippers. Graduation is an achievement in itself. Baltic will take part as official timekeeper in the 17th edition of the transatlantic race, starting on Sunday 26 October in Le Havre, with 74 crews heading to Martinique. Baltic will also support a Class40 team led by skipper Lomano Takasi.

To celebrate this new partnership, Baltic is introducing a new version of its vintage-inspired and attractive Scalegraph chronograph watch, modified to reflect a regatta-inspired look. This new edition of the Scalegraph retains much of the same architecture as the Tour Auto 2025 edition, starting with the fairly compact case measuring 39.5mm in diameter and 14.1mm thick. Made from brushed steel, it features drilled lugs and screw-in pushers to increase water resistance (100m). It features a new blue brushed aluminum bezel insert with a sailing tachymeter scale framing a box-shaped sapphire. Grading in knots over 1/10 nautical mile allows the skipper to measure the average speed a sailboat could reach.
Some developments can also be seen on the dial of this Scalegraph Transat Café L'Or Limited Edition, starting with the switch from a three-register display to a bi-compax layout, where the 12-hour counter at 6 o'clock is replaced by a date window. The base of the dial is finished in a metallic champagne tone, features a white minute scale with illuminated dots and the same original applied markers. The ring-shaped under counters have a cream base, but the 3 o'clock counter with a large eye is special. In keeping with the regatta theme, the tri-color counter is now scaled in reverse over 15 minutes, allowing skippers to monitor the start of the race.

Under the solid back with special engravings there is a movement from Sellita, the caliber SW511 BH. Derived from the Valjoux 7750, this hand-wound chronograph with cam and lever architecture runs at 4 Hz and has a comfortable power reserve of 63 hours.

The Baltic Scalegraph Transat Café L'Or Limited Edition comes with a stainless steel rice bead bracelet and an additional cream FKM rubber strap (both with quick release spring bars). It will be produced in 200 pieces and is available now on the brand's website at 1,750 euros (excl. taxes) or 2,100 euros (including EU taxes). For more information, visit baltic-watches.com.
