To mark the 75th anniversary of the UAE's leading watch and jewelry retailer and founder of Dubai Watch Week, Ulysse Nardin is releasing a special version of its Diver Air for Ahmed Seddiqi. The Diver is considered the lightest mechanical diving watch in the world [AIR] Areas in a blue robe on the occasion of the dealer's anniversary. Introduced earlier this year, the Diver [AIR] With its radically skeletonized movement and lightweight high-tech materials, it defies the usual massive and beefy construction of diving watches. Decorated with bright blue accents, the watch is a limited edition of 30 pieces.
While Ulysse Nardin's headquarters in Le Locle are 1,000 meters above sea level and inland, the brand made a name for itself in the late 19th century with its precision marine chronometers. Ulysse Nardin is proud of its maritime heritage, producing its first waterproof instrument in 1893, its first diving watch in 1964 and a perpetual calendar watch with a diving depth of 200 m in 2001. With two collections inspired by the brand's nautical heritage, the Marine hosts classic editions while the Diver offers avant-garde underwater companions.

The Diver was developed for depths of 200 meters [AIR] weighs just 52 grams, which is 50% less than its Diver X Skeleton siblings. The 44mm case with a height of 14.7mm is modular and made from recycled titanium and low-density carbon; The latter contributes to the marbled, mottled effect visible on the notched diving bezel. The problem with carbon, however, is that it is not waterproof and the movement is protected by a titanium case center. The case sides are made of NyloFoil, which is made from recycled fishing nets and recycled carbon fibers.

For obvious reasons, diving watches don't typically use skeletonized movements, but Ulysse Nardin went one step further and shaved weight from the UN-372 caliber to create the UN-374 with hollowed-out titanium bridges and the signature X-shape. The fully exposed barrel still delivers its impressive 90-hour power reserve. As a precursor to silicon technology, the escapement is of course made of silicon.
The bright blue accents on the crown guard, the indices on the rotating bezel, the flange hanging above the dial and the elastic strap identify it as a Seddiqi anniversary watch. In keeping with the color scheme, the Super-LumiNova applied to the indices and hands radiates a bright blue shimmer. The mineral glass caseback features a transfer motif for the 75th Seddiqi anniversary.

The Ulysse Nardin diver [AIR] The Seddiqi 75th Anniversary comes with a blue elastic strap with a scratch clasp and a white rubber strap with a black ceramic and black PVD coated titanium folding clasp. The price is available upon request from Seddiqi, but should be similar to the price of the non-limited edition 36,000 francs. More information at seddiqi.com.
