Introducing California-based indie brand Havid Nagan introduces the NH02 collection

Aren Bazerkanian, founder and creative director of Havid Nagan, is one of the few new independent watchmakers to attract significant interest in recent years. Bazerkanian comes from an unconventional background and was influenced by his early exposure to high-end watchmaking. In 2022, Bazerkanian introduced the first statement, the HN00 with striking architectural cases, followed by the Havid Nagan HN01 Lucine. The new Havid Nagan HN02 is an evolution of the brand's designs, a sophisticated timepiece.

The cushion-shaped housing has been revised for the HN02. The HN02 is significantly more compact and elegant. The dimensions have been reduced to 38mm in diameter and just 9mm in thickness, greatly improving portability – both the HN00 and HN01 Lucine are over 40mm in diameter and almost 11mm thick. Crafted from Grade 5 titanium with optional DLC treatment, the case features a three-piece construction with a mix of brushed and polished finishes. The most visible and welcome change is the lugs: the HN02 ditches the design of previous models and adopts a more traditional, elongated lug structure. This significantly refines the overall aesthetic and makes changing the bracelet easier. Water resistance is 50 m.

The dial or the entire front display is expressive. It is a multi-layered design consisting of many elements. The central hour and minute display is made of flinqué enamel, combining hand-engraved guilloché with translucent Grand Feu enamel, and features three-dimensional indices and arrowhead-shaped hands. The dial is available in Azure or Ember gradients and requires multiple high-temperature firings. Any imperfection leads to failure.

Underneath this plate is a layer of sapphire with the minute track on the edge and 5 minute intervals marked by polished balls. The small seconds takes place at 6 o'clock. A three-piece brass plate with a hammered silver finish and distinctive shapes surrounds the time subdial, with an additional small component to “support” the small seconds subdial from below. The lowest visible layer reveals the front panel of the movement, which is electroplated in a warm gold tone and decorated with perlage. The overall result is a complex display of textures and surfaces, perhaps a little over-decorative, but by no means tiring or boring.

The HN02 is powered by the caliber AMT6600, a movement that is also used in the Classic One, but has been revised here in terms of workmanship. The bridges retain their skeletal architecture but are finished with a hammered finish and polished edges. The gold galvanized main board has a soft, shimmering texture. This COSC-certified movement operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers an autonomy of approximately 62 hours.

The HN02 is worn on a leather strap with redesigned lugs allowing greater flexibility. The HN02 is produced in a limited edition of 42 pieces, divided into Azure and Ember dial variants and is available in standard titanium or DLC-treated cases. Shipping will begin in the third quarter of 2026. Orders are secured with a 50% deposit and the retail price is $18,000.
