Audemars Piguet's Royal Oak Offshore, also known as “The Beast”, was released in 1993 as a bolder and bolder version of its famous sister, the Royal Oak. The ROO family was inspired by the world of powerboat racing popular in the 1980s and got its name (Offshore). She grew and emerged in 2010 as a ROO Diver without a chronograph and with professional 300m diving skills. In 2021, the ROO Diver was refreshed and equipped with AP's in-house automatic caliber 4308, a sapphire crystal caseback window and a patented quick-release interchangeable strap system. The collection includes three new ROO Divers in vibrant, modern colors.

The third-generation 2021 models retained the exterior features of the previous ROO Diver – 42mm diameter x 14.2mm height – but added additional refinement. However, the two screw-down crowns, one for the movement and the other for operating the internal rotating bezel, were made of durable ceramic and no longer had rubber protective covers. The new ROO Divers are available in stainless steel cases with a raised brushed octagonal bezel, eight polished screws and black ceramic crowns.

Although nothing has changed technically, the new ROO Divers feature contrasting, bright colors on the inner diver bezel to highlight the important 0-15 minute range. The two models with black dials with Méga Tapisserie pattern are combined with bold turquoise and pink accents (not photographed), 18k gold hands and bold luminescent-treated hour markers. Redesigned in 2021, the short, wide hour markers vary in length: the shorter ones indicate 5-minute increments, while the longer ones indicate quarter hours. The missing index at 3 o'clock is used to accommodate the date window with a magnifying glass. The most classic edition features a teal Méga Tapisserie dial and a matching rubber strap with a white luminous section in the 0-15 range of the diving scale and elegant contrasting rose gold accents at the tips of the two crowns, indices and hands.

On the back is AP's in-house automatic caliber 4308, first introduced on the Code 11.59, beating at 4 Hz and boasting a robust 60-hour power reserve. The 22-karat rose gold rotor is decorated with Geneva stripes, circular grain and beveled edges and blackened for a more modern look.
As already mentioned, the ROO Divers feature AP's tool-free strap system with quick-release pushers on the back of the strap. The price that has not changed is 30,100 euros.
