British indie brand Farer was founded in 2015 by four friends with experience in the watch trade. With Swiss-made mechanical movements, Farer offers a portfolio of confident designs with an eccentric British touch and competitive prices, thanks to the brand's direct-to-consumer approach that eliminates the need for middlemen. The name Farer, derived from Old English terms such as Seafarer and Wayfarer, associates the brand with the themes of travel, exploration and adventure, as World Timers' latest trilogy stylishly demonstrates. The new World Timers are one of Farer's best-selling collections and stand out with their intricate details and textured dials.

First introduced in 2019, the World Time watches were a design-led interpretation of the complication, updated again in 2024 with refined features, a new selection of city names and a modified Sellita SW330 automatic movement. Farer's World Timer combines a central 24-hour disc that rotates once every 24 hours with a bi-directional inner bezel. The bidirectional rotating inner bezel is operated by the crown at 10 o'clock and is printed with the names of 24 cities. If you select a city and align it under the 6 o'clock marker, you can simultaneously check the time in 23 other cities around the world using the 24-hour day and night disc in the center.

While the dark green Foxe dial already exists, it returns today with a gold PVD case, and the new burgundy Thorne dial is available with a steel case or a more luxurious gold PVD option. The World Clock's concave dials reveal a variety of details that are the result of 40 different manufacturing processes (industry standards typically limit this to around 14). First, the wide number ring is decorated with a guilloche pattern, polished and covered with clear varnish.

The white Arabic numerals and indices are made of Lumicast, solid ceramic blocks blended with Super-LumiNova, and the 24-hour disc features white blocks for daytime hours and green or burgundy blocks for nighttime hours. A small round opening cut into the engine-turned chapter ring reveals the color-coordinated date, and raised longitude and latitude lines can be seen at the center of the dial, with the Northern Hemisphere represented in a contrasting color. Other design details, such as the bright orange lacquered tip of the second hand (a Farer “A”) printed on the bezel to match the color of London, and the mint SLN inserted into the hour and minute hands of the Foxe model to match the cities and date, demonstrate the thoughtful design of these models.

Also decorated with alternating textures, the 39mm case, 11mm thick, 45mm lug and 100m water resistance, features recessed, micro-blasted case flanks that contrast with the polished sides and brushed satin finish. On the back you can see the Sellita SW331-2 Elaboré automatic movement, a modified version of the SW330 that replaces the GMT hand with the rotating 24-hour disc. The 4Hz movement has a robust 56-hour power reserve and the custom-designed rotor is color-matched to the world map on the dial.
Thorne's burgundy dial with stainless steel case retails 1,525 GBP / 1,725 EUR, while the price of Foxe (PVD) is gold and Thorne (PVD) is gold 1,575 GBP / 1,800 EUR. The watches are sold exclusively through the brand's website and feature a wide range of strap options to truly make them your own.
